Individual/Family Therapy
Parents may question their child’s emotional well-being or observe
behavioral challenges in their children such as disruptive behavior, anxiety,
social skill deficits, fears, and/or excessive worrying.
These issues, as well as others, can be addressed with our Individual Therapy Sessions.
Specifically, Individual Therapy Sessions provide parents
and children the skills necessary to help promote positive
social development, problem solving, and appropriate coping strategies related
to these behavioral difficulties.
Integrating “Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy” and “Parent-Child Interaction Therapy”
into treatment sessions, Lisa Pennington & Associates
helps children and their families find solutions to these challenges.
Our
goal in therapy is to assist parents and children to understand
the causes of the behavior, develop and implement a plan to cope
with the behavior, and connect the family to community resources
when deemed appropriate.
Social Skills, Organization Skills, Parenting Skills,
Communication Skills, and/or Coping Skills may be utilized to help with fears, anger, impulse control, and more. Individual
Therapy sessions may vary in length depending on the
severity of your situation.
